The New Generation Group (NGG), with the Oman Cultural Attaché’s Office, hosted an interactive workshop on Saturday 21st October 2017 at its offices in Mayfair, London. This collaboration demonstrated the NGG’s ongoing commitment to support the growth and development of Omani students during their time in the UK by providing them with valuable opportunities. Through this workshop, students were able to develop their interpersonal skills such as public speaking, problem-solving and other valuable leadership skills.
The workshop brought together presidents of the 23 Omani Students’ Societies in the different UK universities and the members of the Omani Students Advisory Council to share their ideas and experiences. The discussions addressed the concerns of Omani students and the challenges they face when moving to study in the UK.
As a result of this knowledge-transfer activity, the presidents of the students’ societies were equipped with the skills needed to work with the Student Union in their respective universities. The workshop also informed the presidents on how to best utilize the resources available for them to organize events to help new students to settle into their life in the UK and make the most out of their university experience.
The workshop was a huge success and we would be delighted to work with the Oman Cultural Attaché in the future to host similar events that are beneficial to the young Omanis living in the UK. See more photos here.
