Richard Stanford spent a 35 year career in the British Army serving around the world in a variety of roles. He spent two periods on Loan Service in Oman from 1996-1997 and most recently on his last posting in the Army as the Senior British Loan Service Officer to the Sultanate of Oman from 2017 - 2021; a pivotal time in the country’s history with the death of Sultan Qaboos and the accession of Sultan Haitham.
