Abigail Harper joined the British Omani Society in July 2026 as Corporate Partnerships Assistant. She holds a BA in Classics from the University of Oxford.
Following her degree, Abigail completed a MENA-focused research internship with a Jordanian civil society organisation in Amman. Her work focused on education, development, and governance in conflict-affected areas across the MENA region. Alongside her internship, she undertook intensive Levantine Arabic classes to develop her language skills and immerse herself more fully in the local culture.
During her time at university, Abigail was actively involved in organising a variety of events through Exeter College JCR, the Boat Club, and the Ball Committee. Outside of college, she enjoyed playing rugby, lacrosse, and sailing on the weekends.
Drawing on her academic experience relating to the MENA region and her background in events management, Abigail is eager to apply her skills to support the Society’s mission and contribute to its future growth.
