The British Omani Society is pleased to announce the convening of its 12th Annual New Generation Group (NGG) Delegation, scheduled to take place in London from 26–27 November 2025, with a cultural programme on 28 November. This distinguished initiative will bring together 24 early-career professionals from the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman, selected for their leadership potential and commitment to advancing the bilateral relationship.

The 2025 NGG Delegation is generously supported by long-term sponsor BP Oman, whose continued partnership has played a pivotal role in enabling this platform for cross-cultural dialogue and professional exchange.

The NGG Delegation provides a unique platform for emerging leaders from both countries to convene and explore the key issues shaping bilateral cooperation - from diplomacy and trade to energy transition, technology and innovation.

Hosted at the British Omani Society headquarters in London, Mayfair, the two-day programme will feature lectures, panel discussions and networking sessions led by senior figures across government, academia and industry. Confirmed speakers include Rt Hon Sir Alan Duncan KCMG – Former Foreign Minister and SOAS Board Member, Professor Tim Evans of Middlesex University, Andrew Williamson of Cambridge Innovation Capital, Plexal CEO Andrew Roughan and Henning Gloystein of Eurasia Group, alongside experts from bp.

Sessions will be held at the British Omani Society headquarters in Mayfair, London, and will include lectures, panel discussions, and networking engagements. Delegates will also undertake site visits to BP's London headquarters and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), providing direct exposure to international energy initiatives and government-level collaboration.

Key thematic sessions will address:

  • Strategic Diplomacy: UK–Oman Relations in a Changing World
  • Harnessing Renewable Energy: British-Omani Partnership
  • Reflections on Trade Relations in the 21st Century
  • Innovation and Technology: Bridging the UK–Oman Tech Ecosystem
  • Regional Outlook: Strategic Shifts in the Gulf and Beyond
  • Sustainability and the Green Transition

The delegation will culminate in an evening reception attended by business leaders, government officials, and visiting members of Oman’s Royal Academy of Management Startup Leadership Programme.

With UK investment in Oman now exceeding $35 billion and bilateral trade reaching £1.8 billion, this delegation builds on a foundation of deep trust and long-standing collaboration in energy, logistics and education—partnerships that continue to advance and deepen. Today, we are also expanding into frontier sectors like AI, deep tech and the space industry, where the next generation will play a vital role in shaping the future of UK-Oman cooperation.”

Oliver Blake, Trustee of the British Omani Society and Co-Chair of the New Generation Group

On completion of the programme, participants will become members of the NGG Alumni Network, connecting them to peers and mentors across both countries and offering continued engagement through BOS platforms.
