Participating in the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) 2025 was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Representing Oman at such a global gathering of young scientists and innovators was both an honour and a duty, and it provided me with memories and lessons that will continue to inspire me in my work as a medical student and researcher.
One of the most motivating features of LIYSF was the opportunity to interact with people from other origins, ethnicities, and scientific fields. Meeting individuals from all over the world, each with their own distinct ideas and projects, reminded me of science's global language and its ability to bring people together. It was very inspirational for me to observe how innovation and creativity can manifest itself in a variety of fields, including engineering, medicine, and technology, all with the goal of improving human existence.
A particularly memorable part of my experience was presenting Nadeem, a project created to support autistic children and their parents. Sharing our vision of how technology can ease communication, improve understanding, and offer practical solutions was very meaningful. The feedback I received from both fellow participants and experts was invaluable. It not only validated the importance of the project but also encouraged me to think of new ways to expand its scope and impact. Standing in front of an international audience and explaining a project that comes from the heart was a moment I will never forget.

Beyond the presentations, the lectures and visits arranged by LIYSF were eye-opening. Listening to world-class scientists speak about the latest advancements in medicine and technology broadened my perspective. It also gave me ideas on how global challenges can be tackled through collaboration and persistence.
This programme has influenced my scientific interests by deepening my desire to pursue research that is not only academically significant but also socially impactful. I realized that science is not just about discoveries in a lab, but about applying knowledge in ways that can directly improve people’s lives. My future plans now include exploring how medical innovation, technology, and community needs can intersect to create real solutions.
In short, LIYSF 2025 was an unforgettable journey that gave me friendships, inspiration, and a clearer vision of the kind of scientist and doctor I want to become.
