The Good Neighbour: A Commemorative Lecture on the Life of Sultan Qaboos

 Jeremy Jones is Senior Associate Member at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and was previously a Research Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  He has coauthored two books about Oman:  Oman, Culture and Diplomacy (Edinburgh 2012) and A History of Modern Oman (Cambridge 2015).  He has also consulted for the Omani government since the 1980s.

He will be speaking upon the life and 50 year reign of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said. The lecture will reflect on his reign and the unparalleled advances it has had on Oman’s society as well as the vital influence he had in promoting the stability of the Gulf region. A podcast will be recorded and made available on YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify and Apple.
